Craven Dunnill Jackfield were commissioned by the Black Country Living Museum to recreate the Elephant & Castle Public House that was demolished in Wolverhampton in 2001.
Only a handful of original pieces of the façade remained after the demolition, so photographs were used to create a 3D drawing that could then be converted into models that casting moulds could be made from.
The highly decorative pub has been rebuilt from scratch, using handmade glazed bricks, faience and the highly ornate ceramic gold lettering above the windows and doors.
