Casa Rivas Mercado opened its doors in May 2017. It is an emblematic building of great architectural and historical value for being a representative example of eclectic architecture of the 19th century. The residence was designed and built by the architect Antonio Rivas Mercado in the Guerrero neighbourhood, one of the oldest and most emblematic neighbourhoods in Mexico City. Construction began in 1893 and lasted four years.
In conjunction with Collage Empresarial SA DE CV of Mexico and the Casa Rivas Foundation, Craven Dunnill Jackfield manufactured over 80 different tile types which were perfectly matched for 20 different rooms. Over 20’000 geometric and encaustic floor tiles were replaced, using a mix of original and replacement tiles.
