To celebrate 25 years since the re-naming of the school Craven Dunnill Jackfield were commissioned to produce a large 560 tile mural to adorn a feature wall in the beautiful surroundings of Hereford Cathedral Junior School’s playground. Working in conjunction with the schools Art Teacher and a local artist we have created a large external wall tile mural. The schools children and teachers were each invited to produce a single A4 image representing one of several themes – London Olympics, Herefordshire, the School or the Diamond Jubilee. The resulting 290 drawings were scanned and artworked to create a complex but flowing montage of related images.
The finished mural entitled “our wall” is integrated with a central feature design from a local artist. The finished mural measures 8m x 2.8m and incorporates 560 unique tiles produced to withstand all weathers.
